I didn't really have an agenda with this one. I was looking for that fun Friday tune that will motivate me to end the school and work week on a happy note, when I found this.
First a cheery enough little song, and then something to think about while I carry on like all the rest of the sheeple, with my routines.
In my life BC (before children) I lived in Sweden. Spring is a wonderful time of year over there. Tonight is the night of Walpurgis. Vikings celebrated the arrival of warmer weather too, so the custom predates Walpurgis herself, who was a German saint.
In those days the night would have been celebrated with friends and bonfires organized by the town. Walpurgis Night is a good old fashioned party day, in other words - with the day after being Labour Day, a day off for all.
Today, I am at home with a barfing child. As I have spent 5 hours holding her head over the toilet bowl, and read "Little Fur" to her between bouts of puke, I've had some time to ponder life and it's changing seasons. Life is just such a fun, interesting, challenging, rewarding and rich journey.
My little girl declared herself healthy at noon, proceeded to eat a big meal and drink plenty of fluids and topped it all off with her favourite yoga pose - head stand.
Ohhhh- the spunk of that child.
What's left for me to deal with today is cleaning out any germs left behind, and to shake off that queezy feeling you get from being too close to someone else being sick..
I thought I'd share one of the things that help to perk me up.
Lots of people ask.. Why don't I move to the suburb that houses my children's Waldorf School? I might.. but for now we're very happily living in the inner city. And HOW do I endure the drive?
Well, I have help. Rich Terfry (or Rich - Stirfry as my 6 yr old says) plays THE BEST MUSIC!!
Today I'll look forward to a guy who's evidently from the same neck of the woods as myself, I checked out the playlist already :)
Isn't that NICE? I don't even HEAR the backseat squabbles with that going on..
I was browsing music the other day and my 3-yr old was playing nearby.. He totally freaked out (at first very happily) when he heard this song. As I was surfing away from Kitty, Daisy and Lewis, he freaked out again - and with a 3 year old's determination, made me scoot over to iTunes to make my purchase.
Every time I hear one of his songs, I can NOT force myself to picture him the way he looks. It just doesnt' work. A boyband looking guy (I think he's like 21) with this VOICE!! Not working. The picturing thing, that is - the music works. Totally. Makes me happy everytime.
