This January has been AMAZING for me. Could be that I am celebrating that I carefully and secretly hope/know/wish and FEEL that my adrenal fatigue is a thing of the past. It "only" took 2 years to heal and it's been two solid years in the fog. I was beginning to wonder if I would ever come back. I hear that in the world of Adrenal Fatigue, 2 years is actually not that long, and me taking massive action to heal paid off.
This year, 2012, is going to be my best year yet! The past 2 (nearly 3) years I haven't been able to dream big. I haven't felt inspired to do anything, and I only had (barely) enough energy to do the things I have to do to stay afloat (and sometimes my husband had to hold me above the surface). I've parented, I've had fun (but a dulled kind of fun), I've lived life as fully as I could, but I have felt wing clipped.
The veil of lethargy was finally lifted, and I find myself wanting to be inspired, ready to create, and I'm thrilled that I feel energized enough to know that I can take action and actually DO some things :)
A HUGE help and motivation has been the Goddess Guidebook. It's just gorgeous, and fun, and inspires me to dream just as big (no bigger) than I want.
I signed up to be an ambassador because I just adore this fun book :) This wonderful goddess offers up some nice free things too - here.
I feel like I just hit my reset button - and when I come across something good - I need to share ;)
I've been a member over at My Yoga Online for over a year, and I've loved and tried out lots of various styles of yoga videos. But nothing could replace my lost Hot Yoga. I left that behind in the City, when we moved to this small town. A small price to pay for living in such a wonderful place on Earth..
But I missed Hot Yoga nevertheless. I just couldn't get my butt out to attend classes in town either.. nothing compared to "my" yoga.
I felt that love for yoga again, for the first time in a long while. It was an inconspicuous looking video called "Extended Fire Flow". The video was just under an hour, and I had so much fun, got a good workout in, and felt the yoga bliss too :)
If you haven't been on My Yoga Online for awhile - go check them out. I love it so much that I requested to become an affiliate (I was already telling my "real" world about it, may as well spread it around the virtual too).
Oh I've been around the block when it comes to detoxes and healthy diets.
I've done my share of cleansing, green juice fasts and other herbal detox regimens - but I've never done the Master Cleanse. It seemed to me I'd need something more than water, lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper to sustain my body (and keep me somewhat able to keep up with the kids).
Now is the time. 9 days left to day 1, as a matter of fact. I'm giving myself a bit of time to mentally prepare to increase my odds of making it for at least 10 days.
I've been cozying up in front of the fire today, on the couch, a cup of steaming yerba mate in one hand and the book "Beyond the Master Cleanse" in the other (preview the book and TONS of info here). I realize I should have read the "The Complete Master Cleanse" first, but I hoped that the little yellow booklet I have, with the simple title "The Master Cleanser" has about the same info ;)
I confess. I'm a huge fan of New Year's resolutions. By now - 6 days into the new year - I can already tell that most of them will stick. (the ones that won't I will tweak until it feels stickier)
Over the past few years I've resolved to lots of things that are now an integral part of life. I couldn't imagine beginning the day without a glass of lemon water, for instance.
I pulled off 2 years on a raw vegan diet, because I resolved to, and quit, not because I couldn't stick to it, but because I wasn't feeling as sparkly and fantastic as I initially did ;)
This year I resolve to kick my Adrenal Fatigue in the butt. I'm supposed to do it g e n t l y but that is not my personality (personality being what got me into trouble in the first place), so I know I have to make (or discover) an adrenal cure that will work for me. I've bought into a few different cures, but none of them stuck simply because they weren't personalized to work for who I am.
That is THE most important thing to remember about a New Year's Resolution - you have to own it. Your bff's resolution won't work for you, you can't jump on the fitness bandwagon or the quit smoking unless you feel that this is something you want - with all of your being.
Yes, I'm talking about those pesky SMART goals and resolutions again.. They're boring, but they work. (and plenty of resources if you just quickly google it) Here's an even stickier way to make them work for you:
2. There are many problems - shift your focus onto the solution.
3. Manifest the solution!
1. To be aware and informed may seem contradictory to many followers of the Law of Attraction and believers of positive thinking. It is not. We need to accept reality. Just as a drawer full of clutter, or a corner filled with dust, won't clean themselves, reality will not simply "go away". By pretending that we can't see, or refusing to hear, what is going on in our world, we are not making our planet a better place.
It is equally wasteful of our powerful energy to be so absorbed in drama, sickness, poverty, bad news and horrible world events, and to continue to feed those events with more nourishment in the form of human energy.
It is also true, that you will have to choose the type of news that you choose to take in. If we live by striving to be the change we wish to see in the world - we must be more concerned with events and situations that directly impact us - and that we can influence.
2. Once we become aware and awake to the way things are, and this reality, that is when we become truly powerful. Every problem and unwanted situation has a solution waiting for you to find it. Seek the solution, allow our energy to flow there - and take action!
3. Taking action to manifest the solution is often the missing link. We can feel so powerless while witnessing all the sadness in the world.
Taking action can mean a lot of different things. Once we have identified a solution to a particular issue, we may have to chunk this issue down into bite sized and realistic action steps, that we as individuals and smaller groups can accomplish. Ending world hunger, saving all the children, end poverty, stop world pollution or what ever it might be, can be within our power, if we begin closest to home.
Often overlooked, and the simplest form of action, can be just changing our perception of the situation. Our thoughts are energy. Where our attention goes, that's where our energy flows. We are never entirely victims, never entirely powerless - we are always able to choose whether we would like to think about bad situations or positive solutions.
Shifting our thoughts from feeling like powerless victims of circumstance - to powerful human beings who can and will change the world - one thought and action at a time - is a great starting point. It brings us out of the weaker energy field into an energy field that is strong and healthy.
Thinking about the solution is and obvious simple step that we can all take part in. Some of us can do more. Some of us will be able to do a lot more. Most of us will do more as a result of thinking differently. Thoughts become actions. Actions become our reality.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Howard Thurman
Is it time for you to wake up?
I work with moms who seek to educate themselves in order to successfully navigate the world we live in today. Longevity, health and lifestyle coaching might be the solution you are looking for.
What if there was a lifestyle that protected yours and your family's health and happiness, made it possible for you to live with passion and purpose, kept your body strong and young, protected from environmental toxins, as well as radioactive pollution, increased your energy, your libido, protected future generations and inspired you to be all that you can be for the world?
While I think it is crucial to keep yourself informed on all the mad events going on in the world - we can never allow ourselves to forget that it is up to US - you and me - to create the world we want to live in.
We need to realize that there is a battle for our minds going on. If we lose that battle, and give in to being manipulated through TV, news and other propaganda, we will not live with peace and harmony in our lives.
Lately I've been so focused on making sure we're informed about what is REALLY going on in the world (not just the smoke in the mirror, main stream media news/propaganda - but the ACTUAL agenda behind it all) that I've almost lost track of the future that I'd rather be a part of creating.
Sure, it's ugly, the game that "they" are playing. It's easy to plummet into despair and give up the battle, but by doing that, we are playing right into their hands.
Happy, free, peaceful and loving people - who care for themselves, their family, their neighbours, the environment and every living being - would not participate in creating a world in chaos.
It is crucial that we are able to remember that WE have the power of our own minds, we are not about to lose that battle. We're powerful creators and WE can make or break events as they, and before they unfold. Focus on war, unrest, disasters, poverty and despair and that is what we get. Shift that focus away from what we don't want, and pay attention to what we DO want - and our reality will respond accordingly.
If, when looking at the world around us, (and since everything is a projection of what's going on inside) we see something we don't like, we need to stand up for ourselves. It is by participating in the things that seem right to us, that seem like loving gestures, by using the words that empower, and the thoughts that feel good, that we are going to break free and win the battle for our minds.
By choosing to respond to the world in the most loving way - with a solution focused mindset -and change what no longer seem right and fair, we will win.
I've been trying some pretty extreme things to feel like myself again. I've been attachment parenting my 4 kids and I'm now a year into not being pregnant or breastfeeding, after 12 and a bit years of being/doing that, without a break.
By 4 PM every day, I would be just spent. The way I've set up my life counts on me having boundless energy and patience - and both were seriously lacking.
Great nutrition was crucial (can't imagine what I would have been without) and I really thought that I was doing everything possible to feel great. I'm not one willing to settle for less.

Lately there has been much focus on disasters. We see the world, as we know it, crumble around us.
I know there is a shift going on. People who used to think we were nuts for choosing a lifestyle that didn't seem very convenient to most, are now much more open to finding out more about holistic health and there are many more truth seekers out there now, than even just a couple of years ago.
All that is great - but I'm really lacking the spunk to try to convert people these days. It's all old news to me, and I'm rather tired of repeating the same old story all the time. That is - I don't try to push my lifestyle on anyone, whether it's someone I really care for or "just" a stranger - but if someone comes asking - I'm all over it ;)
I've learnt that you can't change other people if they aren't motivated to change things for themselves. They need to either be hurting so much in their current lifestyle - or find a really compelling reason to experience great health - to be willing to switch paths and break free from bad habits and old beliefs.
A close friend of ours is battling cancer right now (a bad one) and it's really sad to know that if he had only been open to (and known about) health promoting food and habits he might not have been in such a dire state.
This guy is a really smart man, he has lots of love to give, children and a new wife. If the right kind of information had been available to him - maybe this cancer wouldn't have had to happen.
BUT, then again, maybe he hadn't. Maybe life was clicking on nicely, until it didn't anymore.
Let's hope that this shift that is taking place, will wake more people up, before it's too late. I wish health, love and happiness for all.
Here's a clip that is a bit too much for me. Too brutally honest. But maybe it wakes some people up?
